Infidelities

An incredible story of a young woman who had a husband and three lovers. The series describes what is happening with the fate of people who are cheating and who are being cheated on.

Infidelities (2015) is a Russian television drama series created by Vadim Perelman for TNT. Elena Lyadova plays Asya, a young woman with a husband and three lovers, and Glafira Tarkhanova plays her friend Dasha, with Kirill Käro, Evgeniy Stychkin and Nadezhda Borisova filling out the circle of partners and acquaintances whose lives tangle around her. Its engine is the sheer cost of secrecy: every hidden meeting, lie and near-discovery pulls another person into the fallout, so each episode feels like a fresh crack in a fragile arrangement. The series moves between the perspectives of its interlocking characters, showing both the people who cheat and the people who are cheated on. Told in a single sixteen-episode season, it plays as an intimate contemporary portrait of urban Moscow-style professional life, with a tone that is sensual, melancholic and sharply uncomfortable. Viewers who enjoy The Affair and Big Little Lies, or the messy romantic ensemble of Girls, will find the same appetite for tangled loyalties and emotional consequence here. Its tone is candid rather than comforting, and its episodes reward close attention to who knows what and when.
