Man with a Plan

A dad finds out that parenting is harder than he thought after his wife goes back to work and he's left at home to take care of the kids.

Man with a Plan (2016-2020) is a US multi-camera family sitcom created by Jackie Filgo and Jeff Filgo for CBS. Matt LeBlanc plays Adam Burns, a man who assumes he can handle domestic life until his wife Andi (Liza Snyder) returns to work and he is left managing the household and their children. The engine of the show is his steady run of well-meaning blunders: packed lunches gone wrong, school pickups, and bruised pride as he tries to keep up with the routines his wife has long run without fanfare. Adam's in-laws and extended family, including Stacy Keach as Joe Burns and Kevin Nealon as Don Burns, cycle through the house with their own opinions, while neighbor Lowell Franklin (Matt Cook) and nanny Alicia Rodriguez (Diana Maria Riva) offer foils. Across four seasons and sixty-nine episodes, each half-hour episode follows a single domestic problem and resolves it in a warm, breezy register. The tone is gentle and comforting, with a light, good-natured sense of fun about gender roles and marriage. Fans of Home Improvement, Everybody Loves Raymond and Fatherhood will find the same easygoing family humor.

Audiences found it a warm, mildly funny family sitcom with a likable lead, though it stayed familiar and undemanding.
