In the year 2046, a cop and his female android partner called Armitage, part of the latest android line known as "class III" models that look, act and feel human, investigate illegal manufacture of class III androids on colonized Mars.

Armitage III (1995) is a Japanese animated cyberpunk science fiction series created by Chiaki J. Konaka and released as a four-episode original video animation with 30-minute episodes. Set in 2046 on colonized Mars, it follows Lt. Larry Randolph (voice by Masaharu Sato), a police officer partnered with Armitage (voice by Hiroko Kasahara), a female android of the advanced class III line that looks, acts and feels human. Together they track the illegal manufacture of these androids, and the investigation forces them to confront what separates a person from a machine. The engine is a procedural crime hunt through a frontier city of shadowy labs and corporate fixers, where every lead threatens to expose the fragile boundary between the two partners. Supporting voices including Yasunori Masutani as Ross and Ryusei Nakao as Rene D'Anclaude widen the conspiracy.
