Restaurant to Another World

There is a certain restaurant in the first basement level of a multi-tenant building in one corner of a shopping street near the office district. The historical restaurant, marked by a sign with a picture of a cat, is called "Western Cuisine Nekoya." This restaurant looks completely normal through the week, but on Saturdays, it opens in secret exclusively to some very unique guests. During these hours, doors in various areas of a parallel world open to allow customers of many different races and cultures into the restaurant.

Restaurant to Another World (2017-2021) is a Japanese animated isekai slice of life series produced by SILVER LINK. and OLM for TV Tokyo. Set in an ordinary Tokyo basement eatery called Western Cuisine Nekoya, the show follows its gentle owner, the Master, played by Junichi Suwabe, and his young assistant Aletta, voiced by Sumire Uesaka. Through the week the restaurant is a quiet, unremarkable shop, but on Saturdays its doors open to strangers arriving from many different parallel worlds. Each episode centers on one guest and one dish, such as fried prawn or teriyaki chicken, and the meal becomes a way to ease a loneliness, homesickness or private worry. The engine is simple and consistent: a guest arrives, orders, and the kitchen responds with careful cooking and quiet hospitality. The series runs two seasons and twenty-four episodes, with a short episodic structure that rewards dipping in and out. Its tone is warm, cozy and healing, with a soft comic edge and a steady, comforting rhythm. Fans of Midnight Diner, Delicious in Dungeon and Kantaro: The Sweet Tale of a Sweet Tooth will find the same blend of food, kindness and fantasy wonder.

Audiences rate the series positively, valuing its warm, food-centered vignettes and gentle fantasy premise.
