Burning for Revenge

Fuego en la sangre is a telenovela that began transmissions on January 21, 2008, through Mexico's Canal de las Estrellas network. Starring Adela Noriega, Eduardo Yáñez, Diana Bracho, and Guillermo García Cantú. It is the Mexican remake of the Colombian soap operas Las Aguas Mansas and Pasion de Gavilanes. The theme song called "Para Siempre" is sung by Vicente Fernández. The telenovela received TVyNovelas Award for Best Telenovela, in 2009.

Burning for Revenge (2008) is a Mexican telenovela created by Liliana Abud and Julio Jiménez for Las Estrellas, the Televisa network. Adela Noriega leads the cast as Sofía Elizondo, whose romance with Juan Robles (Eduardo Yáñez) is entangled with a bitter feud between the Elizondo and Robles families. Diana Bracho plays the matriarch Doña Gabriela, and Elizabeth Álvarez, Jorge Salinas, and Nora Salinas fill out the principal family web. The engine of the series is a slow-building romance pulled apart by old grudges, hidden identities, and the desire to settle a score, with each episode built from confrontations, schemes, and emotional reversals. It runs as a single self-contained telenovela of 205 episodes, a sprawling serialized romance rather than a case-of-the-week format. Its tone is melodramatic and sentimental, with heightened emotion, tearful reunions, and moral tension between love and retribution. Set in contemporary Mexico, the story carries the classic telenovela register of class, family honor, and romance. It is a remake of the Colombian soaps Las Aguas Mansas and Pasión de Gavilanes, and fans of Yo soy Betty, la fea, Pasión de Gavilanes, and Rosalinda will find familiar pleasures in its romantic melodrama.

Audience reception is mixed, with a modest audience rating of 6.4/10 across a small number of votes.
