The Outpost

Talon, the lone survivor of a race called the Blackbloods, sets off to the edge of civilisation to track her family's killers. On her journey she discovers she has supernatural powers which she must learn to harness in order to achieve her goals.

The Outpost (2018-2021) is a American fantasy adventure series created by Kynan Griffin and Jason Faller for The CW. Talon, the lone survivor of a race called the Blackbloods, leaves the edge of civilisation to track down the killers of her family, and along the way she discovers supernatural powers she must learn to harness to reach her goals. Across four seasons and 49 episodes, the engine of the show is a steady pull between the hunt for revenge and the danger of an untamed gift, with each season built from journeys, fights, and encounters at frontier outposts. Her companions, including Garrett Spears (Jake Stormoen), Gwynn (Imogen Waterhouse), and Janzo (Anand Desai-Barochia), help carry the story forward as the quest deepens. The tone blends sword and sorcery action with earnest melodrama and brooding trauma, giving the series a serious, sometimes grim register. Fans of Xena: Warrior Princess and Legend of the Seeker will find resonance in its lone warrior heroine, its swordplay, and its serialized fantasy journey across a rugged, sprawling world.

Viewers find The Outpost a mixed fantasy adventure whose sword-and-sorcery action is undercut by heavy melodrama, stiff performances and uneven humor, though later seasons earned somewhat higher audience ratings.
