Comicstaan

Comicstaan (2018-2022) is an Indian Hindi-language comedy reality competition created for Prime Video, running three seasons and 25 episodes. Ten budding stand-up comedians, shortlisted from a nationwide talent hunt, perform live sets week after week and are judged on timing, material and stage presence, with each episode narrowing the field until one performer is crowned India's next big comic sensation. Hosts Abish Mathew, Urooj Ashfaq, Kusha Kapila and Sumukhi Suresh guide the contest, while judges including Kenny Sebastian, Zakir Khan, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Tanmay Bhat and Neeti Palta deliver blunt, often playful critiques. The engine of each episode is the pressure of a live audience and the gap between a rehearsed joke and one that lands. Structured as a standalone competition across seasons rather than a continuing story, the show carries an upbeat, irreverent and encouraging tone, with a lively studio atmosphere. Fans of Stand Up Central, Little Big Shots and Comedy Central Roast will find a similar mix of comedy showcase and competitive spectacle.
