The Dragon Prince

An extraordinary discovery inspires two human princes and an elven assassin to team up on an epic quest to bring peace to their warring lands.

The Dragon Prince (2018-2024) is a Netflix-original animated fantasy series created by Justin Richmond and Aaron Ehasz. Two human princes, Callum and Ezran, along with an elven assassin named Rayla, set out on an epic quest after an extraordinary discovery upends their warring lands. Their engine is a journey toward peace: each episode moves them through dangerous territory, confrontations with rival factions, and magic that threatens to upend the divided kingdoms. The show unfolds across seven seasons of serialized storytelling, with a continuing arc that rewards watching in order while keeping each adventure self-contained enough for family viewing. Set in a fantasy realm of castles, forests and sprawling kingdoms, the series blends sword fights, creatures and dragons with a warm, earnest tone and touches of humor. Its mood is hopeful and adventurous, with a steady emphasis on friendship and reconciliation between people who were taught to be enemies. Fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Adventure Time will find resonance in its blend of youthful heroes, elemental magic and gentle heart. The series is a fully animated production that carries a family-friendly sensibility for both younger viewers and adults who enjoy fantasy.

Audiences broadly consider The Dragon Prince an acclaimed, warm fantasy adventure with strong voice performances and an appealing blend of humor and epic stakes, though opinion dips on its weaker later stretch.
