Hilda

Fearless, free-spirited Hilda finds new friends, adventure and magical creatures when she leaves her enchanted forest home and journeys to the city.

Hilda (2018-2023) is a Canadian and British animated fantasy series created by Luke Pearson for Netflix. Bella Ramsey voices the title character, a fearless, free-spirited girl who leaves her enchanted forest home with her devoted mum (voiced by Daisy Haggard) and journeys into a city full of unfamiliar people and magical creatures. Along the way she makes friends such as the resourceful Frida (Ameerah Falzon-Ojo) and the loyal Alfur (Rasmus Hardiker), and each episode is built around small, concrete mysteries: a wayward golem, a dragon in trouble, an odd neighbour to win over. The engine of the show is Hilda's restless curiosity meeting the rules and quirks of human life. Running three seasons and thirty-four episodes of roughly twenty-seven minutes each, it is a standalone-episode story with a gently continuing arc. The tone is warm, whimsical and wonder-filled, rooted in Scandinavian-inspired folklore and the storybook charm of a modern fairy tale. Fans of Adventure Time, Over the Garden Wall and Avatar: The Last Airbender will find similar playful magic and friendship at its heart, making it a comforting choice for families.

Audiences broadly regard Hilda as an acclaimed, charming animated fantasy adventure for young viewers and families, with consistently high ratings across its seasons.
