Twelve Forever

Reggie's dream is to be a kid forever. Her dream is so powerful that it creates its own fantasy world of perpetual youth.

Twelve Forever (2019) is an American animated fantasy comedy series created by Julia Vickerman for Netflix. Its protagonist Reggie (voiced by Kelsy Abbott) has a dream of remaining a kid forever, and that wish grows so powerful that it generates its own fantasy world of perpetual youth. Esther (voiced by Jaylen Barron), Colin (voiced by Spencer Rothbell) and Todd (voiced by Antony Del Rio) move through this bright, self-contained realm, where the adventures are built from playful obstacles, odd characters and the small crises of a world that refuses to grow up. Dr. Champion (voiced by Wade Randolph) and the eccentric Butt Witch (voiced by Matt Berry) add further absurd energy to the cast. The single season runs for twenty-five episodes of roughly twenty-four minutes each, with each story largely self-contained within the larger premise. The tone is cheerful, goofy and warm, with a light undercurrent about identity and the desire to hold onto childhood. Fans of Adventure Time, Gravity Falls and Teen Titans Go will find a similar kinship in its imaginative invented worlds, irreverent humor and family-friendly sensibility.
