Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

After a demon attack leaves his family slain and his sister cursed, Tanjiro embarks upon a perilous journey to find a cure and avenge those he's lost.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (2019-2024) is a Japanese animated shonen action series created by Koyoharu Gotouge and produced by ufotable for Fuji TV and its affiliated stations. Its protagonist, Tanjiro Kamado (voiced by Natsuki Hanae), returns home to find his family slaughtered and his sister Nezuko (voiced by Akari Kito) transformed into a demon, and he sets out to find a cure for her while training with the demon slayer corps. Principal allies include the flamboyant Zenitsu Agatsuma (Hiro Shimono), the boar-masked Inosuke Hashibira (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka), and the composed Shinobu Kocho (Saori Hayami). The engine is relentless: each episode pushes Tanjiro through a night of hunting demons, learning breathing techniques, and facing stronger foes who wear human faces. Across five seasons the story runs as one continuing arc structured around demon hunts and escalating battles. Set in taisho era Japan, the series blends rural villages, mountain roads, and the cursed streets of the demon world into an atmosphere of grief and resolve. Its tone is earnest and melancholic yet fiercely kinetic, with lavish fight choreography and a warm emotional core. Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen, Hunter x Hunter and Attack on Titan will find resonance here.

Viewers broadly acclaim the series for its stunning ufotable animation, rousing music and emotionally charged sibling story, with ratings holding strong across its seasons.
