The Secret Life of My Secretary

When a telecom executive develops face blindness, he mistakes his secretary for a wealthy heiress -- which she allows to get out of hand.

The Secret Life of My Secretary (2019) is a South Korean romantic comedy series created by Kim A-jung for SBS. Telecom executive Do Min-Ik (Kim Young-kwang) develops face blindness, and he mistakes his ordinary secretary Jung Gal-Hee (Jin Ki-joo) for a wealthy heiress. Rather than correct him, she allows the misunderstanding to grow, and the lie quickly gets out of hand, pushing both of them into increasingly awkward situations inside the corporate office. Across thirty-two half-hour episodes the engine is simple: a secret that keeps widening, a boss who gradually sees past the mistake, and a secretary who must keep her cover while her own feelings shift. The workplace supplies a steady stream of meetings, rivalries and office gossip, and supporting characters around them add comic pressure. The tone stays breezy and light, with playful banter, sweet moments and a warm glow of romance. Fans of Boys Over Flowers, Oh My Venus and Pretty Woman will find resonance in its class-crossing mistaken identity, its sparkling chemistry and its easygoing, office-set charm. This single-season Korean drama offers a comfortable, funny romance for a relaxed evening.

Audiences broadly rate the series positively for its lighthearted romantic comedy premise and lead chemistry.
