Amazing Stories

This reimagining of the classic anthology series transports everyday characters into worlds of wonder, possibility, and imagination.

Amazing Stories (2020) is a United States anthology science fiction and fantasy series created by Steven Spielberg, Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz for Apple TV. Produced by Universal Television and Amblin Television, this reimagining of the classic anthology format runs five episodes of roughly fifty-five minutes each, making it a limited run rather than a continuing story. Each episode is a self-contained tale in which everyday characters are pulled into worlds of wonder, possibility and imagination. Dylan O'Brien, Victoria Pedretti and Micah Stock lead a rotating cast through stories built around dreams, magic and the ordinary people who stumble into the extraordinary. The engine of each installment is simple: a character wants something small and mundane, and the fantastical premise reshapes that desire into a lesson about wonder. Because every story stands alone, viewers can dip in at any point without losing the thread. The tone is whimsical and hopeful, with a gentle sense of awe that recalls the Spielberg-era family adventure. Fans of The Twilight Zone and Black Mirror will find a shared fondness for speculative anthology storytelling, though this version leans warmer and more playful.

Audience reception is mixed, with a 6.4/10 rating on a small vote count for this fantasy anthology reimagining.
