Bloque de búsqueda

Group of policemen trained to capture Pablo Escobar. It tells the story of the family of some of its members and what they had to experience during the drug trafficking era in Colombia.

Bloque de búsqueda (2016-2017) is a Colombian crime drama series broadcast on RCN, produced with Teleset and Sony Pictures Television and created by Jörg Hiller. Coronel Hernán Martín (Rafael Novoa) leads a police unit trained to capture Pablo Escobar, while Capitán Gavilán (Sebastián Martínez) and Sargento Olga Díez (Laura Londoño) carry the operation through its dangerous field work. The engine of the series is the hunt itself, paired with the domestic cost of that hunt: officers' wives and children, including Ana María de Gavilán (Verónica Orozco) and Milena de Martín (Carolina Gómez), absorb the fear, secrecy and compromise of a country under narcotics violence. The single season runs 71 episodes, following the story across its long arc rather than case by case. Set in Colombia during the drug trafficking era of the late twentieth century, it moves through cartel territory, political corruption and police operations with a tense, grounded texture. The tone mixes propulsive danger with melancholic family drama and moments of romance. Fans of Narcos, The Wire and Sin tetas no hay paraíso will find resonance in its blend of manhunt tension and personal stakes.

Audiences rate the series positively, valuing its gritty portrayal of the Escobar-era manhunt and its focus on the families caught up in it.
