La Jauría

Blanca, student leader of the feminist movement in an occupied school, goes missing: hours later, a video of a group raping the girl goes viral. In their aim to find her, a police squad formed by three women puts their lives and that of their families at risk. As they look for Blanca and investigate, they will find out that behind this gender crime there is much more than just one offender.

La jauría (2020-2022) is a Chilean crime drama series created by Sergio Castro San Martín and Enrique Videla, produced for Prime Video. Blanca, a student leader of the feminist movement in an occupied school, vanishes, and hours later a video of a group assaulting her spreads across the internet. A police squad formed by three women, including Carla Farías (María Gracia Omegna), Olivia Fernández (Antonia Zegers) and Elisa Murillo (Daniela Vega), searches for her while putting their own lives and families at risk. Their engine is urgency and personal cost: every lead pulls them deeper into a world where the crime is only the visible edge of something larger. The series runs across two seasons and sixteen episodes, with each installment building one continuing investigation rather than standalone cases. Set in contemporary Chile amid student protest and social unrest, it blends procedural tension with a sharp feminist critique of violence and complicity. Its tone is harrowing, tense and emotionally raw, and it is grounded in the register of true-story thrillers. Fans of Unbelievable, The Killing and Narcos will find resonance in its gritty realism, its female-led investigation and its portrait of institutions under strain.

Audience reception is negative overall, with the second season rated notably higher than the first for its handling of the dark subject matter.

• Unbelievableshared gritty crime investigation, gender violence subject matter, female-led police team
• The Killingshared true-crime-inspired thriller tone and serialized police investigation
