A League of Their Own (2022) is a United States period sports comedy-drama series created by Abbi Jacobson and Will Graham for Prime Video. Abbi Jacobson stars as Carson Shaw, a woman who travels to Chicago in 1943 to try out for the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, and Chanté Adams plays Max Chapman, a Rockford local turned away at the tryouts. D'Arcy Carden appears as Greta Gill and Gbemisola Ikumelo as Clance Morgan, Carson's best friend, whose loyalty anchors Carson's push to forge a path of her own. The engine of the show is simple and concrete: women who want to play professional baseball must earn spots, navigate rival teammates, and push past the prejudice of a wartime America that has little room for them. Each episode moves through tryouts, practices, road trips and dressing-room friction, building a single season of connections that open up the characters' worlds. Shaped as an eight-episode run of one continuing story, the series was canceled after its first season, so its arc ends on an open thread. Its setting is a wartime United States of ballparks, boarding houses and sidelined dreams, rendered with a bright, whimsical and comforting warmth tempered by the sharp edges of racism and queer longing. Fans of the 1992 film A League of Their Own, Friday Night Lights and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will find resonance in its blend of sports, period texture and female solidarity.

Audience reception is modestly positive, with viewers praising the cast and the warm, inclusive take on the 1940s women's baseball league while a few object to its modern framing.
