WildC.A.T.S: Covert Action Teams

10,000 years ago, amidst a war that spanned millennia, the Kherubim and Daemonites crashed on the planet Earth. While the Kherubim assimilated, the Daemonites carried their plans of domination underground, until which time they could resurface and conquer not only Earth… but the entire galaxy. Now… the time has come, necessitating the Kherubim and their descendants to emerge, mobilize and form the Covert Action Teams (WildC.A.T.s). Their mission: to fight the evil Daemonite forces and ensure the safety and sovereignty of the planet. Watch how it begins and ends as Warblade, Zealot, Grifter, Spartan, Voodoo, Maul, and Void go head to head with Lord Helspont and the evil Daemonites to determine the fate of the universe.

WildC.A.T.S: Covert Action Teams (1994-1995) is a Canadian-American animated science fiction action series created by Jim Lee and broadcast on CBS. Adapted from the Wildstorm comic line, it runs for a single season of thirteen half-hour episodes. Warblade, Zealot, Grifter, Spartan, Voodoo, Maul and Void, the inheritors of the alien Kherubim, are voiced by Dean McDermott as WarBlade, Colin O'Meara as Grifter, Rod Wilson as Spartan, Ruth Marshall as Voodoo and Janet-Laine Green as Void. Their engine is simple and urgent: awakened from a long slumber, they must organize into a covert strike force and stop the Daemonites, whose plans of domination have been burrowing beneath the planet for millennia. Each episode builds on standalone skirmishes and rising stakes against Lord Helspont and his forces, with the team's powers and divided loyalties driving the action. The tone is brisk, colorful and earnest, a fast-paced cartoon built on superhero spectacle and cosmic menace. Fans of X-Men: The Animated Series, Teen Titans and Justice League Unlimited will find a familiar kinship in its team dynamics and comic-book energy.

Audiences rate the single animated season as mixed, with its comic-book action and ensemble of superhero characters appealing to fans of the source comic.
