Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!

When a shy, awkward man turns 30 while still a virgin, he can suddenly read minds – and finds out that his charismatic coworker has a huge crush on him!

Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! (2020) is a Japanese television series created for TV Tokyo, adapted from a manga and presented as a twelve-episode romantic comedy with a supernatural hook. Shy, awkward office worker Kiyoshi Adachi (Eiji Akaso) turns thirty while still a virgin and suddenly gains the ability to read minds, a power that quickly reveals his charismatic coworker Yūichi Kurosawa (Keita Machida) has a secret crush on him. Supporting principal roles are filled by Kodai Asaka as Masato Tsuge, Yutaro as Minato Wataya, and Takuya Kusakawa as Yūta Rokkaku, whose intersecting office lives add complications. The engine of the series is the awkward push and pull between two men who cannot say what they feel, with each episode built from workplace encounters, misread glances, and the comic anxiety of a mind reader who hears more than he should. Structured as one continuing story across a single season, the show moves at a brisk pace in short episodes. Its register is gentle, self-conscious, and warmly funny, with a sincere undercurrent about late bloomers and first love. Set in contemporary Tokyo offices, it sits in the vein of Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku and Given, and fans of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War will find a similar playful mind-game energy.

Audiences broadly acclaim the series as a sweet, charming and warmly funny romantic comedy with a fresh supernatural premise.
