She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

Jennifer Walters navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022) is an American superhero comedy miniseries created by Jessica Gao for Disney+. Tatiana Maslany plays Jennifer Walters, a single thirty-something attorney who becomes a green superpowered hulk, and Ginger Gonzaga plays her friend and colleague Nikki Ramos, with Jameela Jamil as the rival Mary MacPherran and Renée Elise Goldsberry as the firm's Mallory Book. Mark Ruffalo appears as Bruce Banner. The engine of the nine-episode run is Jennifer's struggle to keep her legal career and personal life intact while her new strength draws attention, pulls her into courtroom cases, and invites a rivalry within the Marvel universe. Each episode mixes office sitcom beats, dating mishaps and lawyer procedure with a steady stream of direct address to the camera. The series plays as a single continuing storyline with a light episodic rhythm rather than a case of the week format. Set in a present-day Marvel setting of New York and surrounding legal circles, it carries a brisk, self-aware, sardonic tone with a theme of identity and self-worth. Fans of Deadpool, Ms. Marvel and Better Call Saul will find resonance in its mix of brash humor, legal workplace texture and superhero spectacle.

Reviewers found the series uneven, with bright comedic moments and a fourth-wall-breaking lead undercut by a rushed origin, weak jokes and a lack of direction.
