A Good Day to be a Dog (2023-2024) is a South Korean romantic fantasy comedy series created by Lee Hye for MBC, adapted from a webcomic. The series follows Hae-na, a young woman bound by a family curse that transforms her into a dog after her first kiss, and the only cure is a second kiss. Her plan runs into an obstacle: the boy who gave her that first kiss, Lee Bo-gyeom (Lee Hyun-woo), is terrified of dogs. Yoon Hyun-soo, Ryu Abel and Cho Jin-se fill out the circle of classmates and teachers whose lives tangle with hers. The engine of each episode is the awkward push and pull between wanting a cure and wanting to be close, played out through school-life misunderstandings, small jealousies and comic transformations. The single season runs fourteen episodes of roughly an hour each, a self-contained romance that moves steadily toward its central pairing. Its tone is sweet, breezy and warm, with a gentle comic bite and a hopeful romantic core. Fans of Itazura na Kiss and Kamisama Kiss will find resonance in its blend of teen romance and supernatural mischief, while the Korean youth romance tradition gives it a familiar, comforting shape. Set in a contemporary South Korean high school milieu, it is a light, lovelier-than-yesterday watch.

Audiences rate the series positively, praising its lighthearted romantic fantasy premise and the chemistry of its leads.
