ONE: High School Heroes

A former model student, pushed by domestic abuse and bullying, joins a group that stands up to school violence and defends its victims.

ONE: High School Heroes (2025) is a South Korean teen drama series created for wavve, adapted from a webtoon and running for eight episodes of roughly 47 minutes each. Lee Jung-ha plays Kim Eui-gyeom, a former model student whose life is shaped by domestic abuse and bullying, and he drifts toward a small band of students led by Kim Do-wan as Kang Yoon-ki, who has taken it upon himself to confront the school violence that everyone else looks away from. Kim Sang-ho as Kim Seok-tae and Kim Joo-ryoung as Myeong Da-bin round out the core group, each carrying their own wounds and loyalties. The engine of the story is the tension between protecting the vulnerable and the cost of meeting cruelty with force, played out through confrontations in corridors, classrooms and back alleys of a contemporary Korean high school. Its single season is a tight, self-contained arc rather than a sprawling saga, moving briskly from one flashpoint to the next. The tone is gritty and emotionally raw, with moments of anger, loneliness and fragile solidarity. Fans of All of Us Are Dead and The Glory will find resonance in its blend of school hierarchy, outsider loyalty and righteous fury, all framed as a present-day Korean youth drama with a heavy, urgent heart.

Audiences rate the single season positively, praising its gripping take on school violence and its sympathetic handling of bullied students.
