My Life as a Teenage Robot (2002-2006) is an American animated science fiction comedy created by Rob Renzetti for Nickelodeon. Jenny, also known as XJ-9, is a super-powered robot whose primary function is protecting the planet from disaster, but who has a super-sensitive teenage heart and wants to do something exciting, like attending high school. The engine of the show is her clash between heroic duty and ordinary adolescence: she juggles missions against villains with classes, crushes and friendships with classmates Brad, Tuck and Sheldon, while her creator Dr. Wakeman keeps watch over her progress. Voiced by Janice Kawaye as Jenny, with Candi Milo as Dr. Wakeman, the cast gives each episode a light, bouncy energy. The series runs three seasons and seventy-six episodes of roughly twenty-four minutes each, built around standalone case-of-the-week adventures layered onto a gentle teen arc. Its setting is a near-future American city where robots and high school life coexist, and its tone is breezy, playful and warmly sincere. Fans of Kim Possible, The Fairly OddParents and Sabrina: The Animated Series will find a similar mix of action, sincere teen longing and goofy humor.

Audiences rate the series as a mixed but generally likable kids' animated comedy, with steady ratings across its three seasons.
