He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

Years ago, two leaders battled for the fantastical land of Eternia, one became the good King Randor, the other grew into the evil monster Skeletor who plans to rise once again and take Eternia. To protect the kingdom, the mystical powers of Castle Greyskull chose a hero - Randor's lazy, impulsive teenage son Adam.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is a bright, earnest animated sword and sorcery series that revives the classic toy franchise for a new generation. Adam, a lazy and impulsive teenage prince of Eternia, is unexpectedly chosen by the mystical powers of Castle Greyskull and transforms into the muscular warrior He-Man. Alongside his loyal protector Man-at-Arms and the scheming sorceress Evil-Lyn, he defends the kingdom against the sinister Skeletor, whose old rivalry with Adam's father, King Randor, keeps the realm in constant peril. The engine of the show is simple: each self-contained adventure brings a fresh scheme from Skeletor and his minions, forcing Adam to shed his reluctance and fight. Castles, alien landscapes and magical sword battles give the series a vivid, colorful sweep. Its tone is breezy, sincere and cheerfully heroic, with thrilling action and clear good-versus-evil stakes. Viewers who grew up with the toys will feel a warm nostalgic pull, while younger audiences will enjoy its playful humor, uncomplicated heroism and high-energy battles.

Viewers praise the revived He-Man as a nostalgic, well-animated action series with thrilling battles and solid storylines, though many wished it had continued beyond its final season.
