Overview
Mike Tyson is taking the fight from the boxing ring to the streets … by solving mysteries! Aided by the Mike Tyson Mystery Team — the Ghost of the Marquess of Queensberry, Mike’s adopted Korean daughter and a pigeon who was once a man — Mike Tyson will answer any plea sent to him.
Mike Tyson Mysteries (2014-2020) is an American adult animated comedy created by Lee Stimmel, Hugh Davidson and Mike Tyson for Adult Swim. Mike Tyson voices a fictionalized version of himself, a former boxer who turns to solving mysteries for anyone who sends in a plea. He is joined by a ghost of the Marquess of Queensberry (Jim Rash), his adopted Korean daughter Yung Hee Tyson (Rachel Ramras) and a pigeon who was once a man (Norm Macdonald). The engine of each short episode is a bizarre client request that the team investigates with mock-serious confidence, escalating into absurd detours and deadpan reversals. The show runs four seasons and seventy episodes of roughly eleven minutes each, built as a case-of-the-week format rather than one continuing arc. Its tone is irreverent, sardonic and self-aware, with celebrity cameos and surreal gags carrying the humor. Fans of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! and Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! will find the same appetite for absurdist adult animation and playful mystery parody.
