Nightmare Teacher

A homeroom teacher of Yosan Private High School has an accident, and thus a substitute comes to fill in. Han Bong-Gu is a mysterious man, and after strange occurrences the class president Ye-Rim tries to get to the bottom of this mystery.

Nightmare Teacher (2016) is a South Korean supernatural mystery series produced for NAVER TV. Across twelve episodes of roughly sixteen minutes each, it follows class president Kang Ye-rim (Kim So-hyun) at Yosan Private High School, who begins investigating after her homeroom teacher has an accident and a mysterious substitute, Han Bong-gu (Uhm Ki-joon), takes over the class. Strange occurrences around him push Ye-rim to dig beneath the surface of her classmates' lives, with fellow students such as Seo Sang-woo (Lee Min-hyuk) and Kim Seul-gi (Seo Shin-ae) drawn into the unease. The engine is simple and gripping: each episode peels back another layer of a hidden secret, with suspicion shifting among the students and the adults around them. Its short, self-contained rhythm and school-corridor setting give it a brisk, eerie feel, leaning on mood and gradual revelation rather than gore. The show is set in a contemporary South Korean school and carries a moody, uneasy tone with flickers of warmth between its young leads. Fans of Goodbye Miss Sowon, Dark and Buffy the Vampire Slayer will find a kindred blend of school intrigue, supernatural dread and teen detective work.
