Earthworm Jim

Jim was a multi-celled life form happily burrowing through the topsoil. His life changed in a flash when an extraterrestrial super-suit fell out of the sky. Instantly transformed from a 98 gram weakling into a muscular worm endowed with superpowers, extraordinary strength and the ability to leap incredible heights and distances, the suit renders him invulnerable. Earthworm Jim - daring defender of Earth, the cosmos and everything in between!

Earthworm Jim (1995-1996) is a American animated action comedy series created by Doug TenNapel for The WB, adapted from the Shiny Entertainment video game franchise. The protagonist is Earthworm Jim, a humble worm who gains a super-suit from space and becomes an invulnerable hero, voiced by Dan Castellaneta. He is joined by Peter Puppy, voiced by Jeff Bennett, who also narrates, and by Princess What's-Her-Name, voiced by Kath Soucie. Their adventures are built around a fast, self-contained episode format in which Jim battles grotesque cosmic villains, including Psy-Crow and Evil the Cat, voiced by Jim Cummings and Edward Hibbert. The series runs two seasons across twenty-three episodes of roughly twenty-one minutes each. Its engine is a jokey, hyperactive blend of slapstick and sci-fi spectacle, with each episode throwing a new absurd threat at the hero. The tone is breezy, zany and irreverent, with a playful, offbeat energy that rewards a casual viewer. Fans of Ren & Stimpy, Duck Dodgers and Tiny Toon Adventures will find resonance in its cartoon chaos and cosmic silliness.
