Tacoma FD

There's not a lot of fires to fight in one of the rainiest cities in America, leaving the crew at the Tacoma Fire Department tackling the less glamorous elements of the job. Light on blazes that need extinguishing, this squad keeps itself entertained with creative competitions, friendly first responder rivalries, and bizarre emergency calls.

Tacoma FD (2019-2023) is a American workplace comedy series created by Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme for truTV. Kevin Heffernan plays Chief Terry McConky, a fire chief overseeing a crew in one of the rainiest cities in America, where real blazes are rare and the squad fills its shifts with the less glamorous side of the job. Steve Lemme plays Captain Eddie Penisi, his rival-turned-ally in a station full of friendly first responder competitions. Hassie Harrison plays Lucy McConky, and Eugene Cordero plays Andy Myawani, both anchoring the crew's ensemble antics. The engine of the show is idle time: the firefighters invent creative contests, petty bets, and elaborate one-upmanship to pass the hours between the occasional bizarre emergency call. Each episode runs about twenty-three minutes and is built from standalone escapades rather than one continuing storyline, making it a loose, episodic sitcom across four seasons and forty-nine episodes. The mood is goofy, irreverent, and breezy, with deadpan banter and cringe-tinged humor. Fans of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Reno 911! will find resonance in its blend of workplace camaraderie, mockumentary-adjacent absurdity, and public service silliness set in a damp Pacific Northwest city.

Audiences consistently rate Tacoma FD as a positive, lighthearted workplace comedy with a strong ensemble and an absurd, self-aware take on firefighting.
