Green Lantern: The Animated Series

The Green Lanterns Hal and his partner Kilowog fight against the forces of the Red Lanterns.

Green Lantern: The Animated Series (2011-2013) is an American animated superhero series created by Bruce Timm for Cartoon Network. Test pilot Hal Jordan (voiced by Josh Keaton) joins the intergalactic peacekeeping corps of Green Lanterns, whose rings are powered by willpower, and works alongside his gruff alien partner Kilowog (Kevin Michael Richardson). Their engine is the ongoing struggle against the Red Lanterns, a rage-fueled rival faction, while they navigate threats across alien worlds and the cosmos. Each episode delivers brisk action, bright 3D-animated space battles and banter between the mismatched pair, with the rival Razer (Jason Spisak) and the Lantern Aya (Grey DeLisle) adding friction. Running for a single season of 26 twenty-minute episodes, the show is a lighthearted, accessible entry in the DC Comics universe with a kid-friendly tone. Fans of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Justice League Unlimited and Star Wars: The Clone Wars will find resonance in its colorful cosmic adventure and heroic camaraderie.

Audiences rate the single season positively, with the animated space-action take on the Green Lantern mythos drawing a solid, if modest, following.
