Alongside his friends Koji Kabuto (Hiroya Ishimaru) and Hikaru Makiba (Chiyoko Kawashima), and later his younger sister Maria (Rihoko Yoshida), Duke pilots the mighty Grendizer to repel each new invasion. The engine of the series is a steady stream of monstrous robots and enemy schemes, with each episode built around a fresh threat and a spectacular robot battle. Across seventy-four episodes in a single season, the story keeps a bright, heroic energy, blending rousing action, camaraderie and earnest optimism.
