OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes

Animated comedy set in the futuristic year of 201X, where the world is populated by video game and manga-esque characters.

OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes (2017-2019) is an American animated superhero comedy created by Ian Jones-Quartey for Cartoon Network and YouTube. Its protagonist, the upbeat young hero K.O. (voiced by Courtenay Taylor), lives in a futuristic city of 201X populated by video game and manga-style characters, where heroism is a job full of noise and mishaps. Carol (Kate Flannery) and Enid (Ashly Burch) orbit his world, while the scheming Lord Boxman (Jim Cummings) and the peppy Darrell (Ian Jones-Quartey) supply further chaos and comic friction. Each eleven-minute episode is a self-contained gag-driven adventure in which K.O. chases a goal, runs into a silly obstacle, and turns it into a playful spectacle of action and slapstick. The show runs across three seasons and 108 episodes, with a bright, energetic, nostalgic register that blends video game flavour with cartoon warmth. Fans of Adventure Time, Steven Universe and Ben 10 will find a similar sense of whimsical heroics and gentle, comforting humour.

Audiences rate the series mixed, with its playful video game and manga-inspired humor and heroic energy drawing the most appreciation.
