Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai

Puberty Syndrome—a rumored, mysterious syndrome that only affects those in their puberty. For example, a bunny girl suddenly appeared in front of Sakuta Azusagawa. The bunny girl's real identity is Mai Sakurajima, a teenage celebrity who is currently an inactive high school senior. For some reason, her charming figure does not reflect in the eyes of others. In the course of revealing the mystery behind this phenomenon, Sakuta begins to explore his feelings towards Mai. Set in a city where the skies and seas shine, Sakuta unfolds the meaning behind his bizarre encounters on women with the said syndrome.

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (2018-2025) is a Japanese anime supernatural romance series produced by CloverWorks and Aniplex, based on the light novel by Hajime Kamoshida. High school student Sakuta Azusagawa (voice by Kaito Ishikawa) meets Mai Sakurajima (voice by Asami Seto), a former teen actress who appears to him in a bunny girl costume and whom no one else can see. Sakuta's engine is simple: he wants to understand the mysterious Puberty Syndrome affecting girls around him, and each episode brings a new affected student into his orbit, including Tomoe Koga (voice by Nao Toyama) and Rio Futaba (voice by Atsumi Tanezaki). The show is a two-season, twenty-six-episode run built from self-contained case-like encounters that gradually reveal a larger arc. Its setting is a bright modern Japanese coastal city where the skies and seas shine. The tone blends wistful melancholy, witty banter and gentle romance, with a theme of feeling unseen and the courage to connect. Fans of Monogatari Series and Bakemonogatari will find resonance in its supernatural school mysteries and talky, character-driven charm.

Audiences rate the series positively for its mystery-driven premise, its character-driven romance, and its handling of the Puberty Syndrome arcs.
