My Little Pony: Equestria Girls - Better Together (2017-2020) is an American animated family comedy series created for Hasbro's digital streaming audience, a spin-off of the My Little Pony franchise. Sunset Shimmer (voiced by Rebecca Shoichet) leads a group that includes Twilight Sparkle (Tara Strong), Applejack and Rainbow Dash (Ashleigh Ball), Rarity (Tabitha St. Germain), Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy (Andrea Libman), and Spike (Cathy Weseluck). The engine of the show is the friends' effort to balance their magical heroics with the ordinary pressures of high school, from after-school clubs to music festivals, theme parks and a spring break yacht trip. Each episode is a self-contained outing, so the series works in any order and suits young viewers. Across two seasons and seventy episodes, the tone stays bright, warm and silly, with songs and small friendship conflicts resolved gently. Its cheerful, colorful register and emphasis on loyalty make it an easy pick for families. Fans of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, Sailor Moon and Steven Universe will find resonance in its blend of bubbly teen friendship, light fantasy and animated charm.
