Obi-Wan Kenobi

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, former Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, embarks on a crucial mission to confront allies turned enemies and face the wrath of the Empire.

Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022) is a Disney+ Star Wars miniseries created for Disney+ by Lucasfilm and set during the Galactic Empire's grip on the galaxy. Ewan McGregor plays the exiled former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, now a weary hermit who must confront former allies who have turned into enemies. Vivien Lyra Blair plays a young Princess Leia, a precocious child whose kidnapping sets the story in motion, while Rupert Friend plays the ambitious Grand Inquisitor who relentlessly hunts them. Moses Ingram appears as Reva Sevander, adding a dangerous rival thread. The engine of the six-episode limited series is a fugitive chase across desert planets and imperial outposts, with each episode built around a new pursuit, a tense confrontation, or a lightsaber duel. Its tone is melancholic and tense, with an atmosphere of imperial dread and a theme of reluctant guardianship and broken-hero redemption. Fans of The Mandalorian and Star Wars: The Clone Wars will find a similar blend of space opera action and wounded-hero drama, with a moody, imperial atmosphere that rewards patient viewers of the franchise.

Viewers found a promising premise and a strong return for Ewan McGregor, though the uneven writing and slow pacing undercut the story.
